Wide bands fit more snugly than thin rings. For example, if you normally wear a US 9.5, a size around 10–10.25 may provide a more comfortable fit.

Wider rings generally feel tighter than thinner rings in the same size because they cover more of the finger and create more surface contact.

Your finger shape also matters. If your knuckle is noticeably wider than the base of your finger, or your fingers tend to swell throughout the day, you may prefer the larger option.
A good fit should slide over the knuckle with gentle resistance and sit securely without pinching.
How to Measure Your Finger
A local jeweler will give you the most accurate measurement. If that isn’t possible, you can measure at home:
- Cut a thin strip of paper or use a non-stretch piece of string.
- Wrap it comfortably around the base of your finger.
- Mark where the ends meet.
- Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters.
- Match the measurement to the finger circumference column below.
For better accuracy:
Measure two or three times and avoid measuring when your hands are unusually cold or hot. Your fingers naturally change slightly throughout the day.

About Our .25 Sizes
You may notice that some Hidden Depths rings are offered in sizes such as 9.25 or 10.25 instead of standard half sizes.
Each ring size requires its own individual master wax model, so we intentionally produce a select range of intermediate sizes rather than every possible quarter and half size.
A 10.25 sits between a US 10 and 10.5, giving customers within that range a comfortable middle option.
The difference between quarter sizes is very small, and factors such as band width, finger shape, temperature, and preferred fit can often affect how a ring feels more noticeably.
Why Is the Size Range Limited?
Each individual ring size requires its own master wax model and production setup.
As a fully independent small business, we keep our size runs intentionally limited so we can continue crafting in small batches without significantly increasing production costs, lead times, or the amount of inventory we need to hold.
This also allows us to keep developing new designs and limited collections rather than mass-producing every ring in every possible size.
Can My Ring Be Resized?
Many solid sterling silver rings can be resized by an experienced local jeweler, depending on the design and the amount of adjustment required.
Resizing may be more limited for:
- Gemstone rings
- Detailed bands
- Patterns that run around the entire ring
- Rings requiring a significant size adjustment
We recommend showing the ring to a local jeweler before committing to any alteration.
