This pendant depicts a fish playing a lute, inspired by medieval marginalia: the strange, playful drawings monks used to sneak into the margins of illuminated manuscripts. Not the holy scenes, but the weird stuff around them: rabbits wielding swords, snails dueling knights, grotesque faces, and animals doing very "un-animal things." It feels like a scene lifted straight from one of those wonderfully absurd pages.

Handcrafted in solid 925 sterling silver, the pendant captures the whimsical spirit of medieval marginalia in wearable form. A dark oxidized finish settles into the deeper details, bringing out contrast and texture while keeping the surface slightly worn and ancient, like a small artifact that has somehow survived the centuries.
